What we do

From Skills for Life to fantastic adventurous experiences, we provide a unique Scouting experience to over 700 young people on the Isle of Man with a brilliant team of adult volunteers behind us. Starting in 1909, Scouting on the Island has developed in to one of the most recognised associations and is as popular as ever… why not consider joining?

About Us

Established on the Island in 1909, we as Scouts believe in preparing young people with skills for life.

We encourage young people to do more, learn more and be more. Each week on the Island, we help over 700 young people aged 6-25 enjoy fun and adventure while developing the skills they need to succeed, now and in the future.

We’re talking about teamwork, leadership and resilience – skills that have helped Scouts become everything from teachers and social workers to astronauts and Olympians. We help young people develop and improve key life skills.

We believe in bringing people together, celebrating diversity and standing against intolerance. We’re part of a worldwide movement, creating stronger communities and inspiring positive futures.

Adventure is at the heart of everything we do. It is the single most important thing that sets Scouts apart.

It’s exciting being involved with us. We believe that through the everyday adventure of Scouting, young people and adult volunteers regularly experience new challenges that enrich their lives and meet lifelong friends.

We offer hundreds of activities, as diverse as:

  • Camping
  • Archery
  • Hiking
  • Kayaking
  • Axe Throwing

There’s something for every young person, whatever their physical ability.

The skills needed to succeed in life have changed a fair bit since 1909 and so too has Scouting, ensuring we continue to equip the Island’s young people with the best possible chance of success. As well as hiking, healthy eating and camping badges, did you know our Scouts can develop skills in IT, PR and mechanics?

Our activity badges allow Scouts to demonstrate their progress in various pursuits, and help them to form new interests. They are usually awarded when a young person has completed a challenging yet achievable set of requirements.

We also have a number of Challenge Awards, which focus on more ambitious tasks and are themed around the zones of our balanced programme.
